2024 US Tax Filing Season Begins on January 29!
The IRS announced the official start date of the 2024 tax filing season. The IRS will begin accepting and processing 2023 tax returns on January 29, 2024.
Although the IRS hasn’t start accepting and processing tax returns until January 29, 2024, the IRS still advised taxpayers to prepare tax documents in advance, including worldwide income, foreign financial account report (for FBAR and FATCA), etc.
USCPA Sophie Luo (羅霞) reminds you that April 15, 2024 is the deadline for tax filing, paying taxes and applying for extension. You can apply for an extension of filing your 2023 tax return. However, if you need to pay 2023 taxes, you still need to complete the payment before the deadline to avoid interest and penalties.
