The IRS reminds the taxpayers who qualify for the 2020 and 2021 stimulus payments that if you have not received the stimulus payment for those years, please apply as soon as possible by filing your tax return to avoid missing the deadline.
Generally, to qualify for the 2020 and 2021 stimulus payments, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have been a US citizen or US resident alien for the year in which you are applying for the stimulus payment.
- Not have been claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer for the year in which you are applying for the stimulus payment.
- Have a Social Security Number issued before the tax return due date.
